What is ADA vs CA125 in TB Effusion Diagnosis about?
This study evaluated the levels of CA125 and ADA in the pleural fluid of 60 patients divided into 3 groups: 20 with tuberculous effusions, 20 with malignant effusions, and 20 with parapneumonic effusions. The mean CA125 level was highest in the malignant group, intermediate in the tuberculous group, and lowest in the parapneumonic group. Both CA125 and ADA levels in pleural fluid helped differentiate between the three groups. CA125 showed good sensitivity and specificity for diagnosing tuberculous effusions
