What is Delain: Origins and Early Success about?

For five years, Martjin Westerholt was a member of the Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation but had to leave due to illness. He started writing his own music and eventually founded the band Delain with Charlotte Wessels as the lead singer. Their debut album Lucidity was released in 2006 on Roadrunner Records and featured guest appearances from musicians like Marco Hietala and Liv Kristine. The album was a success and led to Delain touring in the Netherlands and receiving several award nominations.
