What is Anti-Tourism Movements and Canal Roya about?

The anti-tourism movement opposes mass tourism due to its negative impacts on the environment and cultural heritage, originating in the late 20th century. It began in countries like Italy and France, and cities such as Amsterdam and Barcelona. The Canal Roya initiative successfully transformed a threatened valley in the Pyrenees into a natural park, preventing the construction of a ski station that would have harmed the local ecosystem.
