This study investigates the effects of input-based and output-based language teaching on learning English phrasal verbs among upper-intermediate Iranian EFL learners. Results indicate that output-based instruction significantly enhances the learning of phrasal verbs compared to input-based instruction, while no significant gender differences were found in learning outcomes. The research involved 73 participants and utilized pre- and post-tests to analyze the effectiveness of the teaching approaches.
