Une espece nouvelle de pika, Ochotona /α/πα, provenant de la region dc Mustang au Nopal, est decrite. On distingue cette espece de toutes les autres especes du genre par ses caracteristiques morphologiques gonorales et par les traits particuliers du crane. L'ocologie de cette espece nouvelle est ogalement esquissoe. From July, 1966 to July, 1970, a large series of mammals was collected under the auspices of the Nepal Ectoparasite Program, Dept. of the Navy, USA, throughout the Kingdom of Nepal. On Feb. 9, 1970, three specimens of a new species of pika were collected from the Tibetan alpine-desert biotope in the Mustang District of Nepal (Fig. 1) at elevations of 3 640 m (Lupra) and 3 030 m (Bathang). An additional pika was observed near Jososom but was not collected. Several other species of Ochotona (0. daurica and 0. macrotis) were collected from different regions of the Mustang District. Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1966) list 12 species of Ochotona as occurring in Asia. Two of these, 0. roylei and 0. macrotis ,are recorded from Nepal. Thomas and Hinton (1922) report several Ochotona collected in the Mount Everest region of eastern Nepal. Thomas (1922) described four new species
