This study investigates the relationship between particulate matter (PM2.5) deposition in the lungs and the severity of tuberculosis (TB), multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB), and non-tuberculosis mycobacteria (NTM) infections in Taipei. Results indicate that increased PM2.5 exposure correlates with a higher incidence of TB and MDR-TB, as well as exacerbated chest X-ray abnormalities. The findings suggest that air pollution may worsen the severity and treatment resistance of pulmonary TB.
