This study examines the performance of three climate re-analysis datasets (ERA-40, NCEP-r1, and JRA-55) in Angola by comparing estimates of precipitation, temperature, and evaporation to ground observations. The observational data comes from a region with limited monitoring that was not fully used in the re-analyses. The re-analyses provide better temperature estimates than precipitation estimates.
