This study evaluated the occurrence of urinary schistosomiasis and bacterial co-infection in parts of Ondo State, Nigeria. The researchers collected and tested 509 urine samples. They found Schistosoma haematobium eggs in 121 samples (23.77%), significant bacteriuria in 104 samples (20.43%), and bacterial co-infection in 36 samples (29.75%) that also contained S. haematobium eggs.
