About this document

Lightning Protection for Buildings by yosri is a document available to read on EtoBox.

A single lightning rod is not sufficient to protect a building from lightning strikes. An effective lightning protection system consists of a lightning rod to extract the strike and grounded cables to conduct the high voltage surge safely to the ground. The grounding cables should be isolated from the protected structure and connected to the earth at multiple points using non-metallic conduits to avoid the cables acting as a choke that could damage them during a strike.
