Charles Henry Brent was a Canadian-born ecumenical leader who spent his life in the United States. Christian unity was central to his life and work. He was deeply moved by the 1910 World Missionary Conference in Edinburgh and sought to address theological differences that were not resolved there. Brent helped establish the Faith and Order Movement and presided over their first conference in 1920 in Geneva.
