Ruby and her 8-year old sister were sold by their impoverished mother to a foreigner and neighbor Rommel, who promised them jobs but instead took them to a brothel where they were victims of sex trafficking and child pornography. Ruby escaped after attacking Rommel but was shot in the legs by the brothel owner as punishment. A sweeper lady heard the gunshot and reported it to police, leading to the rescue of Ruby and other children and arrest of the traffickers.
