What is Evaluation The Use Of Coenzyme Q10 Supplementation As A Color Protective Agent In Patients With Mild To Moderate Ulcerative Colitis: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial about?

Rationale: Not all patients with a SARS-CoV-2 infection suffer from a severe course of COVID-19 disease. Patients with short bowel syndrome (SBS) and parenteral nutrition have been assumed to be a group at risk for a severe course of COVID-19 disease, even if no clinical data exist yet. Methods: In total, 119 SBS patients with intestinal insufficiency and intestinal failure were included at three different German tertiary care canters from January 2021 until January 2022. All patients underwent an antibody test against the nucleocapsid (N) antigen and were questioned regarding frequency of contact with medical personnel, risk behaviour (11-Point-Scale) and worries. Results: 67.2% (80/119) received parenteral nutrition with a mean of 5.8 ± 1.5 parenteral support per week. The seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies was 7.6% (9/119). Seven patients with positive antibodies had COVID-19 with a mild course without hospitalization or long-term effects. Two patients had an asymptomatic infection. The majority (73,9%) of SBS patients reported to be less willing to take risks. There was no significant correlation of seropositivity with medical contacts, risk behaviour and the number of peo
