Mapuche Legend of the Ñire Tree by ScribdTranslations is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Two spirits named Trauco and Huesha Cüref Huecufü began a fierce battle that caused great destruction in the valley, throwing burning rocks at each other. While being knocked down by a rock, Huesha Cüref Huecufü was saved by his long beard which got tangled in the branches of a ñire tree. As a token of gratitude, he left his beard hanging from the tree to protect it from strong winds.
