- Frank Gambale started playing guitar at age 7, inspired by his two older brothers. He was influenced early on by Jimi Hendrix, John Mayall, and others. At age 15 he almost gave up guitar to play keyboards after being inspired by Chick Corea. - He came to the US in 1983 at age 23 to study at the Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) in Hollywood.
