This study examines the issues and concerns faced by jail officers in dealing with incarcerated individuals through interviews with 7 jail officers in Ozamiz City, Philippines. Thematic analysis of the interview data revealed 4 main themes: (1) struggles with preventing contraband, (2) difficulties maintaining security and services due to understaffing, (3) challenges dealing with the varied personalities of incarcerated individuals, and (4) lack of funding. The findings suggest that more support is needed
