S-2765 is a chromogenic substrate that is sensitive for determining Factor Xa activity and trypsin activity. It consists of the compound N-α-Z-D-Arg-Gly-Arg-pNA packaged with mannitol in a vial. The substrate breaks down upon contact with Factor Xa or trypsin enzymes to release the chromophore pNA, and the rate of this reaction can be measured to determine the enzymatic activity level. S-2765 has been used successfully to measure Factor Xa from both bovine and human sources as well as trypsin.
