What is Ethernet Transport over MPLS Overview about?

Any Transport over MPLS (AToM) is a technology that allows Layer 2 traffic to be transported over an MPLS network. It uses pseudowires, which are virtual point-to-point connections composed of label switched paths in opposite directions. Only provider edge (PE) routers maintain labels for the pseudowires, keeping the core provider routers unaware of them. AToM supports various Layer 2 protocols including Ethernet and frames are classified into pseudowires based on VLAN tags or receiving interfaces.
