What is Stability Criteria for Feedback Systems about?
A stable feedback system is one where every bounded input yields a bounded output. For stability, the closed loop transfer function must have all poles in the left half plane. An unstable system has at least one pole in the right half plane or poles of multiplicity greater than one on the imaginary axis, causing the natural response to grow without bound over time. A marginally stable system has only one pair of imaginary axis poles of multiplicity one, with constant oscillation as time approaches infinity.
