About this document

Overview of the Urinary System Functions by SJane Feria is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The urinary system eliminates wastes from the body. It includes two kidneys, two ureters, a urinary bladder, and a urethra. Each kidney contains over a million nephrons, which are the functional units that filter blood to form urine. Urine formation involves filtration of blood in the kidneys, reabsorption of water and solutes back into blood, and secretion of other substances into the filtrate. Concentration of urine occurs as water is reabsorbed out of the filtrate in the loop of Henle, driven by osmosis
