About this document

Gabion and Geotextile Coastal Protection by apk1111985 is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This document describes a case study of a geotextile tube and gabion armored seawall constructed for coastal protection in Pentha, Odisha, India. The existing embankment was being eroded at a rate of 8.5 meters per year. A multi-tiered geotextile tube seawall was constructed, with four layers of 10 hydraulically filled geotextile tubes as the core and stone-filled gabion boxes as the armor layer. A 1:10 scale model was examined and showed good wave energy dissipation characteristics for the geotextile tube
