What is Bach about?
Johann Sebastian Bach was a German composer and musician born in 1685 who came from a family of musicians. He composed and performed extensively as a young man, holding positions as an organist in Arnstadt and Weimar. From 1717-1723 he worked as Kapellmeister at the court in Cöthen, where he composed some of his most famous instrumental works. In 1723 he became the cantor of the Thomasschule in Leipzig, where he remained for the rest of his life and composed extensively for the church, including cantatas an
