What is Surface Reconstruction by Simple Hard Corrugated Wall Model Computations about?
A method to determine the surface corrugation parameters from the intensity distribution is presented. The basis of the computation is a modified version of the GR method that can provide the appropriate exactness by relatively little computing work. This method gives the intensities in the different directions indicating exactness by the fulfilment of the unitary requirement. This paper gives a procedure to solve the inverse problem, Le. to determine the corrugation parameters from the intensity distribution. The starting point is a hypothetical surface with arbitrary corrugation parameters below the Rayleigh limit. The intensity distribution is a result of the computation--instead of the experimental values. Using the highest intensity values the approximation is improved until the "experimental" intensities are obtained. The most important constituents seem to be the choice of the GR method characteristics--the number and position of selected channels and the symmetry of the selected points in the direct lattice.
