This study evaluated the use of forage palm biomass to produce cellulases and reducing sugars for bioethanol production. Forage palm biomass underwent solid state fermentation with Trichoderma reesei to produce a crude cellulase enzyme extract. This extract showed cellulase activity and was able to hydrolyze both forage palm biomass and fermentation residue, producing reducing sugars.
