Four new bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids, named Stephtetrandrine A-D, were isolated from the roots of Stephania tetrandra, along with five known compounds. The structures of these new compounds were elucidated using various spectroscopic methods, and their biological activities were assessed, revealing Stephtetrandrine C as a potent inhibitor of human hepatoma HepG2 cells. This study contributes to the understanding of the pharmacological potential of bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids in cancer therapy.
