Mr. Ebenezer Atta Yaw Mintah was born in 1937 in Abiriu Akuapim, Ghana. He was orphaned as a child after losing both his mother and aunt who raised him. After completing middle school, he struggled to continue his education and moved to Accra to seek opportunities. He gained employment at G.B. Olivant and GNTC Motors where he trained as a qualified auto electrician. He worked as a taxi driver until facing redundancy in 1978, after which he traveled to Nigeria to continue his career before returning to Ghana
