Peer review is crucial to the success of any scientific publication, as it helps to ensure scientific quality and accuracy. Stephen Lock in his 1985 book on peer review in medicine, A Difficult Balance, states, "the investment of time and money in peer review is high and the belief in its efficacy considerable." The reviewers of RadioGraphics manuscripts devote much time and effort to ensuring that the published articles are accurate, educational, and worthy translations of the scientific material seen at the annual scientific assembly of the Radiological Society of North America.
