About this document

Transgenic Petunia Enhances Botrytis Resistance by Prof. Dr. Raham Sher Khan is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This study evaluates the disease resistance potential of a synthetic fungal chitinase gene (NIC) in transgenic Petunia hybrida against Botrytis cinerea. The NIC gene was successfully integrated into the plant genome using Agrobacterium-mediated transformation, leading to enhanced resistance as demonstrated by various analyses including PCR and Western blot. The findings suggest that the expression of the NIC gene confers increased tolerance to fungal infections in transgenic petunia plants.
