What is Remember! : a Collection of Testimonies about?

A collection of accounts by Holocaust survivors (some of which appeared in the earlier edition of this book, published in 1992, and in other collections of testimonies compiled by Jehoshuah Eibeshitz). The accounts are mainly by Orthodox Jews from Poland. Many of them, including a memoir by Eilenberg-Eibeshitz, deal with the Łódź ghetto. Others describe internment in Auschwitz and other Nazi camps. Particular attention is given to the abortive attempt at a Jewish uprising in Auschwitz in 1944. Pp. 285-306 contain excerpts from the diary of Sarah Fishkin, from Rubieżewicze (now Rubezhevichi, Belarus), who perished in the Holocaust. Believes that eyewitness accounts can be an indispensable source for historians of the Holocaust, as well as a weapon against Holocaust denial. (From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism)
