Understanding Ship Oil Pollution Emergency Plan by Myat Kaung is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Ship Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP) is a prevention plan carried on board ships to avoid monetary losses and environmental damage from oil spills. As per MARPOL regulations, ships over 400 GT must have a SOPEP. Tankers over 150 GT must also have one due to their oil cargo. The SOPEP describes crew responsibilities and procedures for containing spills using onboard equipment, reporting spills to authorities, and includes ship arrangements and locker contents.
