What is Implementation of Kaizen in Automotive Industry: A Case Study about?

As change is the law of nature, humans have evolved from the stone age wheels to today's industry 4.0. This implies that continuous improvement is the habit as well as the need of human beings. This continuous improvement was named Kaizen. The present paper is a case study performed in an automotive industry in Neel Metal Production Ltd.-TVS (JBM) at Hosur, Tamil Nadu, in which the Kaizen improvement activity was performed on the shop floor and the kaizen targets were made. At the end of the kaizen implementation, several objectives have been achieved, such as introduction of work bench, 5S level improvement, identification and traceability system of Dies and Fixture, implementation of automatic spot-welding guns, layout for shop floor, implementation of KANBAN system, standard worksheets on shop floor, Poka-Yoke for critical dimension for critical part made, safety and cost saving. The result and conclusion of the case study includes situations before and after kaizen.
