About this document

Trichomonas Vaginalis in Pap Smears by sk LO is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This study evaluates the clinical significance of Trichomonas vaginalis detected in Pap smears at a sexually transmitted disease clinic in Hong Kong. The Pap smear demonstrated high sensitivity (98%) and specificity (96%) for diagnosing T. vaginalis, with a positive predictive value of 88%. The findings suggest that treatment for vaginal trichomoniasis should be initiated if T. vaginalis is detected in a Pap smear.
