What is Excavations at Salona about?
The second season of archaeological excavations at the Episcopal Centre in Salona focused on expanding the existing trench west toward the city gate and north. Archaeologists uncovered a continuation of a stacked stone wall and a 9 meter long channel in a 4.5 meter wide street. In the trench, they also excavated part of a pit containing large amounts of pottery from the late 2nd century BC to mid 1st century AD, as well as another wall.
