This thesis studies heat and mass transfer in a falling film evaporation process. It designs a horizontal tubular falling film evaporator and evaluates its performance experimentally under different conditions. Mathematical models are developed to simulate the evaporation process and predict thermal performance. Correlations for heat transfer coefficients are also developed that show good agreement with experimental results.
