Elsa is preparing for surgery and returning home. The owner needs to prepare the home by restricting Elsa to a crate or gated area on the first floor to prevent stairs and slipping. Throw rugs should be put down. The owner also needs to prepare family members that Elsa cannot jump on or off furniture or beds and must follow activity restrictions for several weeks to aid healing. A therapy plan and discharge instructions will be provided when Elsa is picked up after surgery.
