What is EPSOC: Evolutionary Programming Algorithm about?

This document describes an evolutionary programming algorithm called EPSOC that is based on the principles of self-organized criticality. EPSOC uses mutation and selection operators to evolve a population of potential solutions towards a self-organized critical state for optimization problems. It was tested on real-world science and engineering problems and performed better than gradient descent, direct search, and genetic algorithm approaches. EPSOC is highly parallelizable due to its population-based appr
