Based on the consensus that the Reformation's successes were linked closely to its character as a media event, the authors discuss the innovativeness of mediality during the Reformation in comparison to the Late Middle Ages, to Renaissance humanism and also within the general transition in the cultural media of the 15th century. Would it be possible to allude to a media revolution during the Reformation, a revolution which was linked to a new understanding of the immediacy of grace and the presence of salvation?
