DOW CORNING(r) 3-6077 RTV Silicone ablative has Moderately tough char characteristics. It can be used as an ablative coating, a thermal barrier and as a high temperature pressurisation sealant. Its primary use is in the protection of launch structures exposed to direct rocket blast, and is easily removable after charring, for recoating. It does not adhere well to polyethylene, certain plastics or organic materials.
