About this document

MBR vs GPT: Key Differences Explained by Navneet Singh is a document available to read on EtoBox.

MBR allows creation of up to four primary partitions and supports disks up to 2TB in size. It works with all versions of Windows and other operating systems. GPT allows creation of up to 128 primary partitions and supports much larger disks up to 18EB. It works with newer versions of Windows, Linux, and Mac OS but requires UEFI firmware and some older systems cannot read or write to GPT disks. GPT also includes security features like a checksum to detect errors in the partition table.
