What is Kanchanasita: A Unique Retelling of Ramayana about?

Kanchanasita is an unconventional film adaptation of the Ramayana that stands apart from typical depictions. It explores new themes and interpretations rather than adhering to traditional norms. The film provides a critical perspective on Rama through the character of Urmila and her discussions with Lakshmana questioning social hierarchies. It offers a fresh take that departs from the usual glorification of Rama found in most Indian cinema adaptations of the Ramayana epic.
