What is Understanding Bluetooth WPAN Standards about?

WPANs are short-range, low-power wireless networks for connecting mobile devices. Examples include Bluetooth, UWB, and ZigBee. Bluetooth provides bandwidth up to 1 Mbps, UWB can stream video at 1 Gbps, and ZigBee offers lower data rates for control applications. The IEEE 802.15 committee develops WPAN standards. Bluetooth uses the 2.4 GHz band and allows up to 8 devices in a piconet connected to a master device. Scatternets connect multiple independent piconets to increase the number of connectable devices.
