What is Identification Key for Aeolothrips Species about?
Cilia are slender hair-like processes around the margins of the forewings in thrips. Some male thrips have a pair of posteriorly directed horn-like processes called drepanae on abdominal tergite IX that may be involved in copulation. Tergite VIII of many Terebrantia bears closely spaced microtrichia that comb the wing cilia prior to flight. The costa is the most anterior longitudinal wing vein in Terebrantia, running along the costal margin and ending near the apex.
