Najab Hussain crosses the vast Rann of Kutch desert in western India to visit his love interest Fatimah, the daughter of a clove seller, in Pakistan. He sets out alone on his camel despite his shy nature. His father is furious when he discovers Najab has left without telling anyone or taking goods to smuggle. Najab braves the harsh desert conditions and patrols by the border security forces. He is determined to reach Fatimah, who he left longing for his return, within a single night across the desert.
