The High Voltage & Short Circuit (HVSC) Testing Lab was established in 1990 through grant assistance to promote domestic manufacturing of electrical power equipment in Pakistan up to 11kV and improve reliability of the national grid through quality testing. The lab contains a High Voltage section and Short Circuit section which perform various tests including high voltage insulation testing, short circuit and temperature rise testing up to 52kV and 25kA.
