What is Understanding Baptism and Salvation about?

Acts 2:38 is a verse that some claim teaches baptism is necessary for salvation. However, the context and grammar of the verse do not support this. When carefully examined, Acts 2:38 indicates that only repentance, not baptism, was what Peter commanded as necessary to receive forgiveness of sins. The greater contexts of the Book of Acts and New Testament affirm that faith alone in Christ, not any works, secure salvation.
