About this document
Mendelian and Non-Mendelian Inheritance by Manal Rizwan is a document available to read on EtoBox.
1. Organisms inherit two copies of each gene, one from each parent, but sex chromosomes and mitochondrial DNA are inherited differently. 2. Inheritance patterns can be autosomal dominant, autosomal recessive, X-linked, or complex/multifactorial depending on whether the allele is dominant/recessive and if it is found on an autosome or sex chromosome. 3. Mitochondrial DNA is only inherited maternally since sperm mitochondria are destroyed, allowing tracing of maternal ancestral lines.
