About this document
Cardiac and Hepatic Iron Overload in Thalassemia by M.Arda Bili is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study evaluates cardiac and hepatic iron overload in 162 thalassemia major patients using T2* magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Results indicate that while 85.2% of subjects had normal cardiac iron stores, 70.4% experienced severe liver iron overload, with a weak correlation between cardiac T2* MRI and serum ferritin levels. The findings support the utility of T2* MRI for early detection of iron overload in thalassemia major patients.
