This document provides a 2 hour fire-rated joint system for a concrete floor and concrete wall connection. The system uses mineral wool batt insulation installed in the joint opening and compressed by 50%. A minimum 1/8 inch thickness of intumescent firestop spray is applied to each side of the wall to cover the mineral wool and overlap onto the floor and wall by at least 1/2 inch. The joint system is designed to accommodate up to 14% compression or extension movement.
