An experiment was carried out to determine the concentration of sucrose solution isotonic to potato cell sap. Potato strips were immersed in sucrose solutions of varying concentrations for 30 minutes. Their initial and final masses were measured and recorded. The results showed that the potato strip immersed in 0.6M sucrose solution did not change in mass, indicating that this concentration is isotonic to the potato cell sap.
