This study analyzes spur gear stresses with different tip modifications using finite element analysis (FEA) software ANSYS. It investigates the effects of linear and parabolic tip relief on contact and bending stresses, finding that tip relief can reduce stresses and improve gear performance under varying friction conditions. Four formulae for estimating these stresses in modified spur gears are also introduced.
