About this document

Ural Mountains Formation Insights by satishgeo is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Mountains form through tectonic processes over millions of years in three stages: 1) accumulation of sediments, 2) deformation and uplift during plate collisions, and 3) continued uplift from isostatic rebound and faulting. During plate collisions, accumulated sediments are folded, faulted, and metamorphosed into mountain ranges. Erosion later allows the crust to float higher, causing further uplift and faulting and shaping the final landscape. Major global mountain systems like the Himalayas and Andes form
